Lane House, located at 26 East Gaston Street in Savannah, Ga., by Associate Broker Staci Donegan, who represented the buyer and the seller. On January 15, 2021, this transaction closed for $4 million. The buyer is the fourth owner of this exquisite Savannah home in its 113-year history.  “The Mills B. Lane House perfectly blends classic Savannah style and historic Southern charm, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy one of the city’s most exceptional historic homes,” said Donegan. “I’m delighted to welcome the new homeowners to the National Historic Landmark District and honored to represent the sellers, who beautifully maintained this iconic historic home for future generations to enjoy.”  Originally built for Georgia banking magnate Mills B. Lane in 1908, this grand six-bedroom home overlooking Savannah’s famed Forsyth Park is an architectural masterpiece, featuring commanding Ionic columns, a stately brick facade, graceful Swan’s neck pediment and hand-crafted wrought iron fencing. The 14,500 square-foot property, which is comprised of a main house, carriage house with pool cabana, features impeccably renovated interiors with period details, high ceilings, parquet floors, hand-painted panels by Bob Christian and incredible natural light.  Shaded by massive live oaks strung, this elegant Georgian Revival residence has been carefully restored and includes sweeping architectural details, from hand-carved plaster details to covered verandas and a swimming pool.  A finalist in this summer’s HGTV Ultimate House Hunt 2020, the Mills B. Lane House was prominently showcased in the “Homes with a History” category as one of the nation’s most incredible listings. Featured in the film “The Legend of Bagger Vance,” the signature Savannah estate is often revered for its unrivaled indoor and outdoor living areas. *SouthernLiving.com* writer Abigail Wilt raved, “The picturesque lot, located in Savannah’s celebrated South Historic District neighborhood, has a very private, fenced-in yard with fountains, gardens, and plenty of room for entertaining guests.” Honored as a “city icon” by *Mansion Global*, this historic home was also featured as *Curbed*’s House of the Day and Hearst’s Dream House of the Week, resulting in the Georgian Revival jewel being showcased on Hearst-affiliated news stations across the country.  This grand estate was thoughtfully restored in 2001, earning a Historic Savannah Foundation Preservation Award in 2003 and a Georgia Preservation Award for Excellence in Rehabilitation in 2005. Strategic updates include state-of-the-art, 21st-century comforts such as a multi-source, multi-zone sound system in every room as well as an elevator and a home theater. The heart and soul of this spacious home is the gourmet chef’s kitchen defined by Italian country style, with a copper farmer’s sink, artisan brass fixtures, large butler’s pantry, Viking commercial-grade appliances, stone backsplashes and custom cabinets. Additional luxury features include a grand foyer, twin formal parlors, ballroom-size dining room, handsome wine cellar, billiards room, original fireplaces, brick patio and English-inspired garden.  ###### Tags: [GA](https://stacidonegan.com/tag/ga/) [Mills B.
